Nauvoo Farm of David Evans

The property description in the Hancock County Book of Deeds indicates David Evans owned a 10 acre parcel in the “southeast corner of the northeast quarter of Section 19, Township 6, Range 8 North in Hancock County” that was purchased September 8, 1842.1 This property was sold April 20, 1846 for $100 when the David Evans family began their trek to Utah with the Mormon Pioneers. The property was located in Sonora Township and a full property description would be given as follows: Southeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 19, Township 6 North, Range 8 West, from the 4th Principle Meridian. This property is shown on the map below with a red square.
